Search
Engine Submission Search engines use special software called "spiders" to build lists of the words found on Web sites. When a spider is building its lists, the process is called "Web crawling or Spidered" Once they are 'crawled', they are then collected and sent to the search engines indexing software. The indexing software looks for documents containing keywords that will match. When a search is performed by entering keywords, the software finds a web document that matches.
"Spiders" take a Web
page's content and create key search words that enable online users
to find pages they're looking for. |
